"When I picture the 48th Ward, I see its cultural centers, theaters, and bookstores. I see the views from Berger Park, the independent shops along Clark, the restaurants on Argyle, and families relaxing by the lake.

I also see a ward where politicians make decisions that serve the few over the many. I’ve seen families priced out of neighborhoods, causing enrollment decline in schools already begging for resources. I see cyclists and pedestrians struggle to navigate crumbling roads and sidewalks. I see neighbors in need of social services criminalized for their existence.

We deserve better.  My name is Nick Ward, candidate for Alderman of the 48th ward. I’m running because a better Chicago is possible, we just have to seize it together."
